Some photo libraries, not all, throw the “Something went wrong. An unexpected error occurred” when trying to view a photo.
The browser will lockup and become unresponsive. I have to refresh the browser window, choose my userID to log back in to plex and then the page that threw the error now shows the pictures correctly.
The browser make and model is irrelevant. It happens with Edge, Chrome and Firefox and on different PC’s.
I have removed the and re-added the library with the same results.
I have scoured the log files but honestly I no idea that to look for.
I’ve read multiple different topics for the exact same issue, but have not found a resolution.
I’m also having this issue on a Windows server and the desktop/browser app. However, viewing the photos the Plex Photos app or regular Plex app for phone/tablet they work fine. We have about 16,000 family photos on the server but not a single one will load on the desktop or web app. It just says “Something went wrong. An unexpected error occurred.” I was on Version 1.41.1.9057 but updated to Version 1.41.2.9200 and it’s still the same. The work around mentioned above didn’t work for me. All the folder thumbnails work, but trying to enter into a folder full of photos, it crashes with the message above and I have to restart the app/browser. I can’t find a working solution on this anywhere.
Can confirm it works the same for me too, reloading the page solves the problem and I can view my photos just fine after. It seems the web app is broken and has yet to be fixed.
