EventSource: Failure in IdleTimeout

Recently my plex server has been losing connection with the player about every 20-30 minutes of playback.
When playing on to a computer this loss of connection is restored with in 10 seconds but when playing onto a chromecast ultra it takes nearly 5 minutes to restore. This is happening with both transcoding and non-transcoding video files.

Any ideas? I get the same error as above every time it looses connection.

I’ve been seeing the same thing. Interestingly i found another thread (it was a few days ago so forgive me for not having the link) that showed evidence that this may be the fault of the router.

I’ve got a very similar set up to you, all my kit is hard wired into the router so it makes me think it’s more likely an issue with the router than the server losing connection through it’s own fault. The thread suggested restarting the router which in my case appears to have resolved it for now. I have a BT Ultrafast hub. I’m going to collect logs the next time i see this happen to try and dig deeper to see why it occurs.

If you found the root cause and is something different i’d be interested to hear what it was.
