Hello, I have an issue with Plex: during streaming, sometimes the video hangs and stop loading. It can happens at worst 1 time every 5 minute but I can have uninterrupted stream during at most 1h. The only way to restart the stream is to go back a little back (10s is enough), and the stream continues.

I don’t think it is a lack of power from my machine as otherwise everything works correctly. The logs Plex Media Server Logs_2019-09-26_23-22-15.zip (619.7 KB) have a lot of errors but a lot of them happens when I’m not using the server. The last log file shows what happens between 20h30 and 23h, when I was watching some episodes: there is some errors, but not as many as the hangs I had.

THanks for the logs but they’re largely useless (DEBUG is turned off).

Logs don’t use any more space with DEBUG on than when off. The buffer is 26 MB deep.
DEBUG tells us just enough. VERBOSE is only used in rare cases when we have a specific host-client issue.

I am seeing very questionable media in the output which may indeed be sign of the problem
Also note the network connection ended abruptly.

Sorry, I haven’t thought of that. I’ve tried reproducing the issue for an hour, but the issue didn’t appeared. I’ll reply to this post when I have some meaningful log.

Concerning the media, I saw these issues, and I don’t really know if it’s part of the problem because just after going back, the stream recovers and don’t block at these points. I’ll keep that in mind for the next logs.

And for the abrupt end of the connection, it seems to be a consequence of removing the connection Plex<->Chromecast.

Hello again,

I finally reproduced the problem and didn’t forget again to turn on the debug log. Here there are : Plex Media Server Logs_2019-09-29_22-20-55.zip (1.1 MB).

The issue I have appeared at around 21h11 and 21h55 today (2019-09-29).

I thought it may be related to transcoder throttling, what do you think?

Thanks for your help!

I resolved the issue. There was a strange network behavior with my laptop with Plex on a wired connection and the phone+chromecast on WiFi. Putting my laptop on WiFi resolved the issue.
