Exception for more than 100 shared users?

I know there are other post discussing the same things but since things have changed quite a lot recently with the coronavirus.

So i am working in the IT department in a school and we have started to create a plex server for the teachers. On the server we are having concerts and performences the school have created. And today without knowing there was a limit we reached it.

So i was wondering if there was any way to get an exception. The server is for teachers only and things the school has created.

Ideally if the limit was 150-200 that would be great.

Thanks

When you hit the limit, you should have seen a message telling you how to contact Plex regarding exceptions.

I did not see any contact information.

I just got the error message: could not send invite

I also counted the users and we are at 100. I even deleted one and added another one to try but no luck.

Any chance you or someone else has an e-mail adress or something?
I noticed it was not possible to direct support questions directly to the plex staff.

Thanks again

they literally just blogged about this.

First, if you’re an educator quickly adapting to online classes, Plex might be able to help

To be clear, this is a bit of a stretch for us as we’re a relatively small company, but we have a platform that might be of value to educators out there. We are aware of a number of schools (and hospitals, churches, and even a submarine!) that have used Plex to stream licensed and teacher-generated videos in classrooms. We’ve recently helped a San Francisco Bay Area school that suddenly needed to figure out how to distribute this content remotely via tablets and web browsers. We were able to donate the costs associated with the remote software, as well as provide early access to a new feature we’re working on, single item sharing, so teachers can now share their playlists or specific content directly with their classes. If you’re an educational institution that may benefit from using Plex, email us details at edu@plex.tv so we can understand what you are looking to do, assess the demand, and see how we might be able to help.

Thank you for sharing!
Sent an e-mail and got a quick response.
Our server limit is now much higher.

I was recently an IT Director at a college. You may be able to take the output from Plex and feed it into something else that would distribute, like LiveStream, or Zoom if it’s instructor-led, but only one operator per stream could control it. But you need to be careful with anything copyrighted, because then you’re broadcasting. Depending on your LMS, you should be able to embed video materials into the online class. In my case, I used VMware Horizon View to create a pool of VDI’s for remote lab use. Students and instructors could remote in from anywhere in the world and access anything stored on the local NAS, full-HD at 60FPS.

There was not need to flag anyone about this. That post which was flagged was just a copy of info on we provided on our blog how to contact the correct folks at Plex if they wish to talk to someone who can help them. There was nothing inappropriate about the post.
