I’ve been trying to figure this our for a while now but with no luck.
I have 2 users in my Plex account. My sisters and mine.
We have a few tv shows that she watches and I don’t and vice versa. So every time one of us adds one of those shows to the library, the other one has to go to the show, mark as “Watched” so it’s doesn’t show. (I always use the filter “Watched” on).
Isn’t there a way I can add certain tv shows to an exclude list? So that the Plex scan doesn’t keep adding them to my user account?
I don’t believe there is currently a way to do this.
If you watch different shows, and want different programs to show as watched then is may be worth setting up 2 separate libraries then only sharing the one with you sisters that you don’t add your stuff to?
I’m not sure if this solves you question. If it does, I’m happy to help!
If your account and your sister’s account are in addition to the Admin account (you can’t hide anything from the Admin), you can do the following:
Log in as the administrator.
Edit your user account, go to Restrictions, and add your name as a Label under TV Shows.
In your sister’s account, use her name.
In your TV Shows library, edit each of your TV shows (you can multi-select and edit several shows at once. See this help page.). Go to the Sharing tab, and add your name to the Labels field on every show that you watch, and your sister’s name on every show that she watches. If you both watch a show, add both names.
In the future, whenever either of you adds a show, be sure to add the appropriate label(s).
Not the easiest way to solve the problem though.
It would be nice to simply have an option when right-clicking a show to “Don’t refresh” or “Don’t follow”.
Ether way, thank you for your suggestion beckfield.
Gonna start doing that from now on.
