As topic, is there a way to hide tv shows that you don’t watch or don’t even want to see the update of these shows, or adding a favorite menu to the end user to separate the tv shows.
I think this would be a good feature to have per user, i think it might it would be more likely to have it on the end user platform not the server?.
Simple answer, no. But when your watching a show, it will appear in “On Deck” so you don’t even need to look to “recently added” etc. So i’m curious about your reason why you want this to be a feature.
because on a shared family plex server i don’t want to see the updates of my mums tv shows
Have you explored setting up a Plex Home? It should allow you to do this, if you are the server Admin.

You can’t hide anything from the Admin account, but you could create a managed user for yourself, add custom labels to all the shows that you want to see, and restrict your managed user to see only the shows with that label.
I would love this feature.
I run a server that I share with some friends. They are watching some shows that I don’t like. I would then love to hide those shows for my user, they wouldn’t clutter my “shows” library.
I requested this before, as the an Ignore option.
It isn’t the same as watched or unwatched, you just want to ignore a show. It should be a filter as well. Which can be turned on and off.
This is a feature that that people discuss using with tags, but tags isn’t quite subtle enough. You don’t want to have to start thinking about how you (The admin) are going to tag a show. It should be completely in the home users control.
Yeah, I’d quite like the ability to ignore some stuff that I’ve added for other family members (i.e. kids shows).
You could try setting up separate PLEX accounts on your Home server
You could be really inspired and call one “Mum’s Shows”
or you could be more subtle and provide profiles to suit each User…
Personally, I’ve split TV into three sections: Kids, Continuing and Concluded. That way the sections are not so bloated and you can block out whole sections per user. But then I am a bit OCD with my sections, 2 x Home Theatre, 7 x Movies, 3 x Music, 2 x Sports, 4 x TV, 2 x WWE, and an Animated Shorts section.
…sigh…
I wonder if there was anymore movement on a hide\ignore series.
I have my plex setup for family members. all adults. but there are some types of shows they will never want to watch and some shows they want i don’t care to see. I dont want to have to manage this for everyone. i normally sort by last show updated to catch the latest shows.
Would think it would be easy to add a selection. ignore this series check box, and not display it to that user. like the played option. maybe its more involved.
thanks again for a great product.
Would love to see a hide/ignore aswell.
+1
Did this ever get any traction?
I would love to see this - I have Plex Home with 4 different users, but i know that there is no way that i ever want to watch some of the same TV shows as my teenage daughter (Riverdale - no thanks!).
I could mark all as watched, except when a new episode is added it will appear on my on deck. Having an ignore show (on a per user basis) would be great - my kids dont get to watch game of thrones - but i doubt if they want to watch some of the shows i record either…
Thx

+1 for this feature too. Please allow admins to hide unwanted shows!
+1 It’s getting annoying having to mark a single episode as watched that another user has added to my plex server.
+1 for this feature. Would be very helpful to ignore certain shows.
+1 thanks for all you do Plex
+1 Thanks, Plex!
+1 thx
Any news for this suggestion? Would be great to have this feature with shared library!
I can’t believe I had to go on the forums to see that, no, such a basic option does not exist. Admins and Dev, what is preventing you to add such a feature that would allow to hide a movie or show for a library without having to mark it as “watched”?
