I’m trying to setup a collection dedicated for each users on my server, so I can send them some recommandation based on what I think they’ll like to watch.
So I started to create 3 collections, one for me, and one for each of the 2 other profiles.
I then added a label to each collection. Let’s call them : profile1, profile2, profile3
In the users, I added a restrictions:
The Profile2 has Movies > Exclude Labels: profile1,profile3
and Profile3 has Movies > Exclude Labels: profile1,profile2
So, in the “Movies” library, under Collections, I cannot see the Collection made for profile1 or profile3 for user 2, which is working.
Problem is, i’m trying to make it available to the homes of each user, kinda like Netflix would recommand you to watch something based on what you saw.
So if I click on the dots on the collection > visible on > friend’s home
Well everyone can see it, even though each profile, has in the “Exclude Labels” every other account’s labels…
So it works on the Movies > Collections list section, but not on the homes.
And I don’t see a way to hide content on a specific user.
The issue is that there isn’t a way to add a label to the collection itself, so when you make a label restriction, it blocks the movies, but not the name of the collection. So users will see the collection, but if they click on it, they shouldn’t see the contents. There isn’t a way to hide the collection itself from appearing to a user.
The other thing to know is that an “Include” overrides an “Exclude.”
So, if a user has Include permission for label “A” and an Exclude for “B” then if you assign A & B to the same item, the user will be able to still see the item because “A” is overriding “B”.
Oh, I should have read more closely. Yes, the Home screen behaves differently in regards to Collections being visible or not. I can’t remember specifics but something about the Visibility can override Excludes.
