I am using podcasts, but need to exclude podcasts from search results. podcast search results show above my music search results which is highly distracting and unwanted behavior for my use case.
Is there any way to exclude podcasts from search?
MovieFan.Plex replied “There is not a way to exclude News and Podcast from search results, unless you disable these features for your account.”
But I am using podcasts as a Plex feature and still want to exclude that section from search. Maybe that’s possible now?
What client are you using?
In Plex Web you are indeed quite limited when it comes to limiting your search scope (unless you disable an online media source or unpin a library). In Plex for iOS you can however already adjust the filter, e.g. limiting the search scope to pinned content, downloaded content or by media type (then again… you cannot disable single sources)
Using Plex iOS, Plex macOS, PlexMediaPlayer, PlexAmp and was using PlexWeb when I filed the request.
Are you aware of an open feature request to disable single categories? As more and more web media comes into Plex I think that is an essential and highly important feature request.
Edit: Nice to see, work is actually happening in that area and PMP just received an improved search.
You might want to check out the latest version of Plex Media Player (v 2.50.0)…
