exe path for Plex for Windows app

HI,

I am trying to find the actual path for the execution to start the Plex app so I can have another program start it.

I have tried right clicking on all icons etc. No properties to show the path to the file to start the app.

PLEASE HELP. Makes no sense to me.

I have mine installed on my D drive to provide more space for the meta data files, so my path looks like this:

“D:\Plex Media Server\Plex Media Server.exe”

If you have yours installed on your C drive, it might be under “C:\Program Files (x86)\Plex Media Server”, “C:\Program Files\Plex Media Server” or something similar, unless you did a custom install for its location like I did.

You could also do a Windows Explorer search for “Plex Media Server.exe” to locate the executable.

Thanks, but I am talking about the Plex player only app in windows 10. There is nothing for plex under programs at all x86 or 64. Makes no sense why I can’t find a target

Missed that you were referring to the Windows App, thought you meant the actual Plex file. Check out this article to see if it helps: https://www.maketecheasier.com/access-windowsapps-folder-windows-10/

They get installed a bit differently since they run sandboxed. Here is a link to how to find the path: Where are apps from the Windows Store installed to? - Super User

Don’t know how much help that will be however, you may have to do some research to figure it out. On a quick search I mostly found people saying that it can’t be done, but I didn’t dig very deep. They run quite a bit different than a standard windows application. This is not just the Plex app, but all apps from the store.
