Express VPN router firmware. Can't get remote access. please help!

I know this question has at some point showed up on this forum a hundred times if not more. I honestly have done my homework at least. I have been researching for months and have hoped I wouldn’t need to make this post for that reason, but I am at my wits end :face_with_symbols_over_mouth: and need the community. I have been trying to find a work around for my PMS to bypass my VPN. My PMS is also used for torrenting. which is the main reason I would like a work around. The VPN I am using is ExpressVPN it currently is the firmware for my router. I am using the older version (DD-WRT v3.0-r31277) Netgear R6300v2?. I thought I might be able to use a custom DDNS that was a flop. (maybe I’m doing it wrong). On the new firmware build (for the router). it does have a port forwarding option. I think for some reason it will only use port 8080? not sure. :man_shrugging: I cant get the PMS to recognize that option. I thought I found a solution on a forum post that explained how to set this up from my current firmware (router).I can’t seem to find the post again, and the search option doesn’t pull anything up. I’m probably using the wrong keywords. please ask any question! in case I missed something. Also before it is recommended I have tried using Xflak(which still blinks on every hour) and vpnbypass. both options were a flop. bypass almost worked 1 time , but crashed the server when I tried to watch movies on my LAN. Any Help would greatly be appreciated and hopefully put Expressvpn to bed.

thank you!

May I ask what company you went with, And got a work around? Do they have a modem option?

I was using SurfShark and it worked great with plex…now today since the 5/19/20 update…it’s not longer working and all the EXE’s are bypassed. First no longer continuously playing now this… If this doesn’t get fixed I’m googling “Plex Alternatives”.

sounds like herpes… no matter what you do to fix the problem. It keeps popping back up
thank you for the input though… I’m hoping you get a work around… if you went thru my google search history. everything you see is highlighted in purple… (as in been clicked) lol. Is it possible for you to revert back to an older version? has anyone tried OpenVpn? I’ve read some promising results in that area… unfortunately most topics I’ve found are extremely old… i’m wanting to buy a decent size package from a provider. Im still locked into Cyber Ghost for another year. :confounded: thought express was the answer. Im wondering if I should just get a raspberry pi and try something in that area at least with torrents
