Server Version#: 1.29.1.6316-f4cdfea9c
Player Version#:1.54.2.3267-d35cd36f
I’m running Plex Server on a Mac running OS 10.14.6
In the Finder it shows as version 1.29.1.6316-f4cdfea9c
In the web interface it shows as version 4.87.2
Plex desktop app for Mac Version 1.54.2.3267-d35cd36f
This was working fine until the latest update. Following the update, I have two issues:
Under settings, the External access settings are completely missing. Nowhere to be seen in the Settings panel. (I can access my server remotely, but I can’t view or adjust the external access settings.)
Also under settings
> Manage > Libraries >
and > Manage > Console >
and > Manage > Plugins >
When I click on any of these I get the message “Server settings are unavailable”
I have tried logging out and into the server (yes with the “admin” account).
I did as the doc says and quit PMS and then removed these entries from the settings file:
PlexOnlineHome (this one was absent)
PlexOnlineMail
PlexOnlineToken
PlexOnlineUsername
I restarted the Mac afterwards.
The problem remains.
I tried restoring a backup copy (from before this happened) of the “com.plexapp.plexmediaserver.plist” settings file.
Plex server was off when I did the restore and I restarted after I restored this file. The problems persist.
I have reinstalled Plex Media Server. Problem persists.
Same issue here, running Plex Server on Mac 10.14.6, latest update broke the server resulting in “Server settings are unavailable”. I had to downgrade to Version 1.29.0.6244-819d3678c and it seems to be working now, although it wants me to update, which I won’t until this issue is officially fixed. Thanks
Thank you for validating my experience and confirming that reverting to the previous version works around this. I have reverted (thankfully I keep a healthy library of Plex versions, so this was easy) and it’s working as it should.
There are several threads reporting the same thing. Short answer is either the new beta seems to fix it or revert to a previous version. Here’s a detailed response:
