External access (Port forwarding for Remote Access or just login to plex.tv ?)

Server Version#: 1.28.1.6104
Player Version#:

Hello,

Just a question for the external access :

Should I perform a forwarding port to find my Plex Server to reach it from ouside network (Remote Access) or can i login to plex.tv is enough to reach it directly with my account ?

Thanks for your help,

Regards,

That depends.

Try it first with simply logging into the app.

If that doesn’t work at all, or ceases to work after a few hours, or only works with limited speeds, read The Basics of Remote Access Troubleshooting

Thanks for your return and these information

In fact, i understood that i have the choice I had a Remote Access in addionnal of log with Plex.tv but my ISP have updated my Web interface (i don’t know when exactly) and i can’t anymore change my NAT settings…

I had reached my Plex Server with my public ip directly from the beginning to ensure myself than i can manange it outside in case

So if i can reach my Plex Server properly just with the URL plex.tv, it’s gonna be ok.

I can delete my Remote Access in Plex menu and keep the other connect path, if the method is good and a best practice…

Else, for the port forwarding configuration, i have to change my actual router (ISP router is the original provided)…

Thanks
