When I play music files to my Naim DAC V1 how do I know the correct file format is being played ie, 24/96. As far as I know if the file is being sent via the Mac Core Audio the correct format has to be selected in the Midi APP and as far as I know if you do not do this, it defaults to the standard format. Is it possible to bypass Core Audio and select the DAC to play direct or have I got it totally wrong.
In the latest release, go to Settings > Playback > Audio Output. You can set the output to 96 kHz. The internal pipeline of Plexamp is 32 bits, so there’s no need to configure this.
There is no way to “bypass Core Audio”.
Thanks for the info however I cannot find the path you mention in the settings menu.

Your screenshot is showing the Server settings area.
You need to enter the settings of Plexamp
or
Plex for Mac
The menu is not available when using Plex in a web browser.
Which type of Plex app are you using for playback?
I seem to be getting utterly confused!. I did initially download Plex for Mac but for some reason added all my folders using the server. Downloaded the app again but when I open the app it says server not available, presumably need to sign into the server, but when I did still do not see those particular settings?. Think I need to go back to basics and must be an age thing!.
The settings you showed above are existent in both the web app and Plex for Mac.
Immediately above them are the settings for the client.
Here are they in the web app:

Here is are they in Plex for Windows
(which should look identical in Plex for Mac, apart from the name)

Thank you for all your advice. I have now re downloaded the apps, added the music files and now seems ok. I have selected my audio device from the settings menu within the Plex for Mac interface and set to 24/96 in the midi device app and assume anything above will be downsampled but correct me if I am wrong.
Correct. And anything below will be upsampled.
Great, Thanks.
