Server Version#: Version 1.22.2.4282-a97b03fad
Player Version#:4.29.2
I am trying to optimize my Audio when using Plex on my MacMini. It is running OSX High Sierra 10.13.6. I use the old Player Client on the same computer as the Server. I have it connected HDMI to my Emotiva XMC-1 Processor for Audio and Video, but also have the headphone jack used as a TOSLink audio output to my Emotiva. In my Mac Sounds options I have both HDMI (Listed as HSR82) and Optical Digital Output. When choosing the HDMI, I only get the option for Surround. It does not seem to detect the various audio formats depending on the media. The recording may be outputing AC3, but the processor only sees it as 7.1 and outputs as Surround. It may be PCM Stereo, but again the processor only sees it as 7.1 and outputs as Surround. If I have a 2nd audio stream available in the media for Stereo, it seems to be louder, but still only shows as 7.1 via HDMI. I can change to the TosLink output of the Mini to my processor, but it still does not see DTS or AC3, it seems to see everything as Stereo and mixes it to ProLogic-Music. I do not get options for DTS or AC3 like the HDMI settings. I have lots of MIDI channel/output modes on the MAC, but I am unsure of which to use. SORRY if this is so very old. I can not seem to find the answers in my searches. How do I get the native digital format to go from the Plex Player via my MacMini to my Audio/Video Processor? Thanks!
