External Player for Plex Player on Android (NVIDIA Shield)

I am trying to use a different player with my official PLEX player app on my Nvidia Shield but I can’t seem to find this option. I have seen other topics with that question but couldn’t find a definitive solution/answer.

So am I just blind or does the official PLEX Player from the google store not have the option to use an external player on android?

There isn’t an option to use an external player. That is only an option when running on mobile devices.

Why it’s only on mobiles and not android - Google TV? We pay money so we want the same features!
