The fact that the Dance was necessary to resolve this issue, is a sign that you might be still using the old Python-based metadata agent(s).
Unless you are relying in the automatic subtitle download, consider changing the metadata agent of your library to “Plex Movie”, followed by “Refresh Metadata” of the whole library.
