I have an army of cartoons I watch daily. Daily. Today, a large number of them are displaying as washed out and almost colorless. Literally just randomly overnight.
They play fine, they just look very wrong. Did something happen overnight? Is there a fix for this? They are unwatchable to me in this state.
what kind of media are you trying to stream – e.g. media from your own server, a shared library, live tv from a connected TV tuner, Plex’s video-on-demand or live-tv streaming?
with what Plex client are you experiencing this (e.g. web app, desktop client, mobile client, tv app… which platform / app version)?
if you’re streaming from your own server – which version of PMS do you have installed and on what platform?
I’m streaming my own content, on a local connection.
I usually use just my PC and a TV I have connected to it via DisplayPort. So I’m using Firefox. I hope thats the answer lol. Web App I think?
As for the media server…I think I just do it through the web access? I don’t use an app or anything. Windows PC if anything though?
It’s something to do with HDR, because when I drag the tab back to my Monitor (which doesnt have HDR), it views normally in full color as expected. But I’ve changed nothing in weeks, so I’m not sure what the deal is?
Edit: though I don’t think its even HDR content, it’s just Family Guy downloads. So confused, I’ll do those screenshots now.
If it’s working on one but not the other monitor, there’s probably something going on with that setup. Could be something physical or the newer videos using some technical aspect the other display can’t deal with properly.
You might want to check if there’s a native Plex app for this tv of yours (e.g. if it’s a smart tv or has a connected streaming box). If you want to keep connecting the TV to the computer, have a look at the Plex HTPC desktop app.
This will give a much better experience than streaming from the browser!
If you tend switch off the TV while the computer is still running, or switch on the TV later than the computer, I’d simply try to reboot the computer.
You could also unplug and re-connect the HDMI plugs – just in case there’s a weak contact that somehow affects the signaling.
