Hi,
I bought the recommended tunner from Plex supported tunners support page VBox 3442 linked below. I’m using its latest firmware XTI_VJ.2.66.20.
Plex Windows server is able to successfully discover it from the same subnet, without introducing manually the IP, and it is detected as: VBox Communications VBox TV Gateway http://192.168.1.135:5555
However, if I try to run a manual search for that device IP, it fails.
This impacts me in the following way; i’m trying to migrate my plex to a docker in my server. In that plex server, automatic discovery is not occurring. I don’t want to change the container to host, plus, I’ve already configured it so that the container can reach without issues the Tuner IP. Also, when trying to to directly input the IP of the tunner, the search says it fails to find anything (just like in the windows plex).
I checked the logs and seems like Plex tries to find a http://192.168.1.135:55555/discover.json file in my tuner, which just doesn’t exist, so it fails to proceed manually. However, the same seems not to bother the automatic discovery of the same from the other plex.
- Why manually setting the same IP, or IP:Port of the tuner will fail to be added for VBox Tuners, although they are listed as supported tunners?
- How can we manually add a VBox TV Tunner?
