Since 1st October all recordings are Partial (a 1 hour show records for 10 minutes or less) even though there are no schedule clashes, etc. It is also not due to a poor signal as I can watch the channels “live” with no issues both through Plex using HD Homerun as the Tuner and my TV tuner which are both connected to the same aerial signal.
I have reset the Mac, ensured all apps are up to date and Refreshed the Guide but I still am seeing failed and partial recordings. I have switched off Commercial Removal in case that was causing a problem but nothing seems to be working.
I would triple confirm that you’re good watching shows through the HDHomerun, especially through Plex using the Live TV functionality.
From what I’ve read (and experienced) the HDHomerun tuners are a little underpowered. Results from them and a TV connected directly to the same antenna aren’t truly comparable. I know my recordings will stutter, and show shortened recordings especially on channels with a weak signal. They may work fine through the TV, but through Plex and the HDHRs, they tend to stutter and buffer more.
Disable the commercial removal and test again to be sure, if you’ve not done so already.
These are just thoughts, and may not apply to your reality.
if you have an outside antenna, you might want to check its alignment, it is possible for the wind to cause the antenna to move slightly a different direction which can throw off already weak stations and make them harder to tune in completely.
I’ve noticed the same issue. I’m running Plex and upgraded to the latest beta and had problems with remote connection to TV shows. I then turned off beta and went to Version 1.13.8.5395. I’m still having problems with partial recordings 10 seconds, 10 minutes for 1 hour shows. I never had a problem before. I’m also using HD Homerun and have an outside antenna with booster running direct to HD Homerun. No issues watching the same show on the same computer that is recording.
Did you send logs into support for this issue?
After fallback to Version 1.13.8.5395.
I turned off the option to remove commercials.
I also added a new series tonight to test it and the entire show was recorded.
Now to see if my existing scheduled recordings will record the full show.
I’ll update once I find out early next week.
