Failed to download XML for codec 'easyaudioencoder' and Decoder install failed: eac3_eae

OK, so I’m having a similar issue.

I’ve found that if you are storing the Plex metadata on a separate SSD using “Unassigned Devices” AND using LinuxServer Plex Docker is appears that you MUST format the SSD in XSF.

I’m doing this now to test the solution.

I dont think this is categorically stated anywhere (As its a Linuxserver thing, not a Plex thing) as my SSD was initally formated as an NTFS drive.

interesting. Please let me know your results. I havent updated this thread but i have opened a thread with Unraid. I created a new plex docker using the official plex docker and it too has the same issue. i have found that if you move between the cahce drive and the unassigned device, every time the docker lives on the unassigned device, it will fail. move it back to the cache and it will work. i have a temporary work around where i have two dockers pointed to the same media library. ill have the one download and install the codec and ill transfer the files to the other and that will get passed the issue. but any new codec will continue to have an issue unless i transplant the codec from the once instance to the other.

you are correct, my unassigned device is formatted with NTFS. most or all the guides i’ve looked over all used NTFS so i’m surprised this is not a bigger issue but maybe people just don’t notice it since their library’s are using mostly the same codecs

It works !

You need your “Unassigned Drive” that hold the plex meta data to be formatted in XSF and it’ll work as expected.

Awesome, ill give it a shot tonight. Thanks @BigDan!

No probs, hope it fixed the problem

That did it! Thanks again!
