Over the last couple of years, I have had one album that just does not want to stay matched. This has occurred with two different servers and multiple file types.
I have a playlist called “Unmatched Music” that I check occasionally to see if Plex threw up again and failed to match some albums. This album occasionally becomes unmatched and will not match again.

I unmatched/matched the Artist and ended up with all my tracks being unmatched. Whoopsie.
Which agent is used by this library?
Do you have “prefer local meta data” enabled or not? (don’t change it yet!)
How are your music files organized and stored?
Which file format does this album use?
Which of these artists is it: Search results - MusicBrainz
OK, BMTH sorted themselves out for now and all my music Matched.
IDK which step did anything useful, but I would have to guess unmatching/matching the artist.
{Album Type}/{Album Title} {Album Disambiguation}/{track:00} - {Track Title}{Album Type}/{Album Title} {Album Disambiguation}/{medium:0}{track:00} - {Track Title}{Artist NameThe}FLAC - 2.0 - 870 kbps - 44.1kHz - 16bitYour musicbrainz search was for the artist name as the album name so that search would not work .
It was absolutely not clear which is which.
Folder structure is perfectly fine.
You can embed the musicbrainz ID into some particularly stubborn albums which refuse to match.
Try it with a few albums and Musicbrainz Picard to see how the meta tags are used.
I posted a link to the exact release group to avoid ambiguity, but I appear to have failed.
This is not a one-time issue, so I expect to see this release pop up again soon.
All of my music is matched to Musicbrainz using Beets, I am not sure what else I can do.
With the above folder structure in place and your quite perfect meta tags, I recommend activating “prefer local meta data”.
Imported additional organized and tagged music and ended up this AM with ~280 unmatched songs. Console is showing same error as before.

Do you have an example of an unmatched album with a link to it on musicbrainz? Could be similar to what I posted about here Plex Music Scanner & Matching with Embedded Musicbrainz Tags
Basically, even perfectly tagged files from musicbrainz does not always ensure it gets matched with plex. Folder structure also is important.

So the debug/trace shows that it is matching to mbid 83975d6b-18da-4e8c-bf7f-af990242c6a1.
Why is the album not showing as “matched” then?

As a test change this to Tasha the Amazon\Black Moon removing the \Album\ folder. You may need to perform a plex dance on the album / artist.
As I say, tags get you so far but you will still need to follow the plex naming and folder structure.
I understand where your suggestion is coming from, but this has been an issue for years and predates adding the album type to my structure.
I just created a debug for a manual match that does set the matched flag, reviewing now.
OK, my conclusion is that Plex auto match is correctly matching the album, but not doing the metadata write that a manual match does?

I also want to have album type in my structure so I’ll share what I done. After much testing what I ended up doing was add type to the folder name of the album itself within square brackets. Here is an example with an artist who has album and compilation types.
