Hello people.
This is my first time that I post here but i use plex from many years
Here is the thing. I have a huge folder with only movies but i’m having problem to get the proper data of Stephen’s King IT. It keeps getting the wrong title even if i put the proper name , year or change name from “Stephen King’s It” to “It”
I also tried to create a subfolder like “IT (1990)” > filename “It (1990).mkv” but nothing change
Am i need to touch some settings on metadata / agents section ?
Any suggestions pr helps will be appreciated.
I can post other screenshots if needed.
I attach the screenshot of current wrong movie that is associated
This is actually a show and not a movie so it needs to be in a TV library and not a Movie library. I’m guessing that is your problem as Overlord is a movie so your screenshot must be from a movie library.
Yes thanks.
I thought was a movie splitted in 2 parts.
So basically all the projects from Stephen King’s of '90 always be in the tv shows category ?
Maybe “The Stand” , which i dont have, could be the same type of thing ?
Good day to you Dokuro and thanks again
I have no idea why it worked for me, but the movie shows in my movie library using the new agents, and with no special naming or hints to get the match. The XML shows it’s matched with the new agent
(from the XML for the file - guid="plex://movie/5f57bbf5365eb400411b16f4" ) I have not manually edited any of the metadata fields, the fields are all unlocked, and refreshing metadata keeps the file matched.
There is no embedded metadata except audio language tags. The movie is in a library that has always been configured to use the new agent (not upgraded from the legacy agents) I know it hasn’t and doesn’t work for others, and I suspect it will eventually be lost for me as well, but it’s been there for about a year now.
Most likely was a movie at some point in the past over at tmdb when you initially matched it and they then reclassified it to a show. That would be my guess anyhow.
The library is a relatively new library, (about a year old) configured from the initial set up to use the new agents and scanners (Plex Movie) It was not an upgraded library that had used the legacy agents for matching at any time. I was aware that people had problems matching it, so honestly didn’t expect a match, but somehow it worked. I don’t recall using any manual matching methods.
Yep, that id no longer exists. It was likely a movie somewhere at some point and was removed.
We try to rematch things (a few times) when refreshing if the id no longer exists but if it cannot find a decent match then I think it just keeps the old data.
You currently cannot do that. Plex will by its current design show all the actual episodes contained in your file.
There’s a feature suggestion to show multi-episode files as a single library item instead.
Your only other alternative would be to simply list the file as a single episode and to manually change the title from Part One to something like Parts One and Two or just It.
