Trying to get plex to download meta data for the show super sentai. It downloads metadata for everything else. Every file is named correctly using filebot. Not sure why plex is still labeling everything as episode 1, 2, 3 ect. especially when the name is in the file name.
How are your files named and organized into folders?
Plex won’t take episode names from the file name. It will only ever read the season and episode numbers from the file name and then will look them up in either TheMovieDB.org or TheTVDB.com and get the episode titles from there.
I have attached two screenshots to show the folder structure and episode names. Also I use to have a old server that crashed years ago and it was able to download the metadata for this show with now issues.
There is currently a known bug when using the old, deprecated metadata agents on Windows. I’d follow this thread Stopped adding new files - #35 by sa2000 or the server release notes for when a fix is released.
I think the problem is that TheTVDB is collecting them all into one show,
whereas TheMovieDB (and IMDb too) has only a few seasons listed as separate shows. super sentai — The Movie Database (TMDB)
Try to “Fix Match”, and put tvdb-73694 into the “Title” field during the procedure.
Season 0 aka Specaials is named like S00E01 and so on. I had issues a while ago with the - Special 001 - naming convention. Everything else is in the 1x01 format. And Season 0 does not download metadata either. I have the exact same files on a friends server and his plex server downloads the metadata with no problems.
It looks like you have your library set to TMDB ordering which is fine for most things since
99% of the time things match. If you have your files for that show named like TVDB has it then leave the agent as Plex TV Series and only changing the ordering to TVDB (aired) for the show.
