Feature differences

I use my server on various clients. What drives me nuts is that each player handles playlists entirely differently and I don’t understand why.

Example: on Roku, I can see the progress of the videos in my playlist as I scroll through them. The thumbnail will show progress and I know where I left off.

AppleTV and GoogleTV do NOT do this. There is zero UX showing whether or not I’ve engaged with that video at all.

Why is the Roku experience the better experience? Is it hard to do in the other players?

Plex is working to harmonize the user experience and features across the different platforms (e.g. across mobile apps and among big-screen apps). There’s a preview available on Apple TV – though I’m not sure it’ll cover things the way it’s currently working on Roku.

Okay – I tried to get on the preview, but was told there were too many in it, so I’ll take your word for it. What I know is that every time we are somewhere that isn’t Roku, my kids have zero clue where they were in their playlists and it’s a really silly UX miss that shows organizational boundaries (big time). Hopefully, this will get resolved “soon.”
