Hi. I’ve been using the Plex server and want to figure out why sometimes the different versions of the same movies works and sometimes it separates them to be different film posters. I want to be able to name and have all the versions and extra features that were backed up to be in the same film cover icon. Then have my extras and special features appear next to the ones that are searched for on the different online servers. I have activated local media search and named the files but it’s intermittent on which files it knows are a different version like commentary or directors cut. Also I haven’t found a way to get local media versions of the extras and trailers to show up with the film. Always a ton of separate poster pop up in the media scan. I’ve been using the TV naming structure and the TV tabs for feature extras but this is not intuitive since there are now series that have the same name as the features.
I think you misunderstood. I am using the TV folders as a work around so it shows as a series together. I am trying to get movie extras to show up combined with the movie since they are in the same folder as the movie. These are specific movie extras that are named like.
MOVIE.mp4
MOVIE Extras Behind the Scenes.mp4
MOVIE Extras Directors Commentary.mp4
I’m trying to get them to all show up together in the same place when I click the main movie the extras should show up as secondary content. Right now they show up all as individual movies.
Okay > WORKING NOW.
Got the latest update and started organizing into subfolders. The -NameExtra format didn’t seem to work but the subfolders is working and now shows the local extras next to the found extras using Plex Pass.
Both naming methods work, but you cannot combine them within one and the same movie.
Avoid inserting additional folder levels above of the ‘Movie Title (year)’ folder. (Like when you collect related movies together.)
This can also prevent the feature from working correctly.
