I’m using MAKEMKV and my disk will transfer fine, and the burn process works. When PLEX scans my movie files it picks up the new addition. When I play my movie in PLEX the feature length commentary is present. How do I get rid of it? After MKV is completed, the movie will not have the feature commentary, but PLEX does have it. Is there a way I can remove it in PLEX, or do I need to use MAKEMKV?
In makemkv, you can select/choose which audio streams are stored.
It sounds like either the commentary is the first audio track, or that someone has manually selected the commentary track (plex will remember last selection).
you can change the active audio track in plex, in the preplay screen > settings > audio stream
or while a video is playing you can hit play/pause/select and click the ‘gear’ or other settings icon that goes to the audio stream settings.
if there is no other audio streams, then you will need to re-rip with the correct audio selected.
Thank you!!! Problem is fixed.
Prior to getting your information I had already converted the file from MKV to MP4, and that fixed it.
I’m new to Plex so I couldn’t figure out how to find some of your suggestions. Regardless, thank you for taking the time to help me with my issue. I will learn Plex better and soon I’ll find everything like you’ve described a lot better. Thanks again.
