I often find myself halfway through an episode of a tv show I’ve seen before and I’d like to skip it so I hit next. But the next time I hit play for that series it’s right back where I left off in the middle of that episode even though I’ve watched like 4+ episodes since that last session. I know this is because the episodes aren’t being marked as completed. I think a simple solution would be a “Next+Mark as Played” button in the player would fix that. Instead of having to back out and manually mark all the episode from the main menu you could just skip that episode mark it as played and continue onto the next. And so on and so on until you are caught up to your current watching point or whatever. You get the point.
I even took the time to scratch up what I thought it MIGHT look like if it was a thing. 
Anyways something like that without the bright text below it… that was to symbolize the “help” bubble that would pop up if someone hovered.
