Making an official request based on my thread here
It would be nice to be able to delete synced content from a device while offline (on an airplane, for example), to clear up storage space. Servers could sync up the deletion on the next connection.

Liked and +1’d - finished a movie while on an airplane, and didn’t see the need to keep the file on the device anymore.
Liked and +1’d as well. I retired an old Plex server but forgot to delete the synced content from my iPad. Now, when I click on Sync settings, I only see content from my current server so I can’t delete all the previously saved videos. I could of course remove Plex completely and re-install, but then I’d have to transcode everything that I’ve currently synced from the new server.
+1 for me…
+1 for me.
+1 for me.
I tried to figure out how to vote for this enhancement as doing a +1 for me here does not help get Plex’ attention but what not able to figure that either.
This would be a great feature to have while traveling, whether deleting a watched show/movie on an airplane, or in a remote town with no data connection (or very slow/capped connection). The app should not need an active connection back to the server just to delete a synced file from my phone.
This is definitely needed, a big disappointment when I started playing with it after signing up. Definitely need to be able to free up space when offline, like on vacation.
Wow I can’t believe this feature request is not getting more likes. It means if you are planning on going on vacation you need to use some other video player while you are away. Really poor design. The app lets you delete the sync’ed content, but for some strange and illogical reason doesn’t actually delete it and release the space till it syncs with the server. Makes Plex seem very amateurish (especially for a “premium” function you have to pay for) when people are used to other sync functionality which works properly, like the apple one…not the impression you would want to give I’m sure.
+1. In my opinion, there is actually no reason why this should be the case already. It’s strange that a person doesn’t have the the option to remove content of their own storage.
I don’t need my PMS, or any other party to keep track of my players on my mobile or tablet. It’s stored on the machine I used to play the media on. If I don’t want it anymore, I should be able to remove it. There is no internet needed for that.

Make sure to Like the original request…just saying +1 doesn’t count in the voting…thx!
Absolutely agree. This is essential feature.
Here is a bug report thread in the iOS section of the forum.
Is there any recent development on this front?
I have not heard anything ever about this ever becoming a feature.
OMFG, just add this feature for goodness sake. I had my media server die on me during a trip and I realised I could not clear space without deleting the entire app.
I’m new to Plex, and I’ve been loving it, but I am really surprised to find this isn’t possible. Deleting offline content off any device, in any app, should not require an internet connection.
Has everyone clicked Like on the original post (#1) in this thread to register your vote for this feature request? (I wish Plex offered a better system for feedback, but that’s a separate complaint.)
+1 from me. And have liked the original post
+1 - This feature is waaaay overdue
