FEATURE REQUEST: Offer the ability to "offline" content not in use

I couldn’t find anything about this kind of feature currently being supported, so here it goes…

Most cloud storage providers have local clients that integrate into the shell/file system that will allow you to have files sync’d upon demand - meaning you can list the directory structure and see the files, but the actual content won’t be available until you attempt to access it. They also have the ability to offline content, or remove the file’s data without removing the file.

A nice feature would be an auto offlining service for content that hasn’t been used in a while (or ever for that matter). Basically you setup PLEX with a link to your cloud storage provider and have the CSP’s local client installed. Then you would setup a threshold for when content becomes stale, which would cause PLEX to tell the CSP client to offline that file. When the content is requested again the CSP client will automatically download the file’s data.

Not sure how feasible this feature would be to implement, but for those of us who don’t want to just delete everything we’re no longer watching, but also don’t want it to be a hassle to backup/restore, I think it would be a great feature.
