When the Plex authentication server goes down for whatever reason, it literally makes our servers useless and non-functional - which can create unnecessary downtime for our servers and frustration (like today having it go down for over an hour).
Is it not possible to implement the database for authentication (or whatever process authentication undergoes) directly into our servers to eliminate this sort of downtime?
Literally the only downside with Plex for me is that it requires an internet connection to authenticate with your servers. The fact that I canāt even adjust server-side settings because I canāt authenticate with the āmother shipā is kinda silly⦠Server-side settings arenāt even available to me unless I can authenticate to you.
I agree that having local access to my plex server & media would be a great feature addition. We have lost internet access previously and effectively have no access to our local server & media. I would enjoy a ālocal modeā option that would allow devices on the same subnet to connect & stream normally regardless of WAN status & https authentication servers.
