Spotify does this and I use it all the time. On the now playing screen swiping left or right on the artwork advances the track by 1 or -1 depending on direction.
Yes, I’d definitely like to see this added to Plex for Android. Swiping to change tracks is especially nice because it allows you to control the music without having to carefully tap a button – you can swipe without even looking at the screen.
