If a recording stops before the end due to either network timeout or the transcoder failing, it would be good if plex tried to start the recording again in the way a set top boxes do. It would mean the finished recording would have a gap but this is better than only getting half of a program.
might be worth changing the subject to something like “auto-resume failed recordings” so people can search/find this.
Is there any chance that the Plex gods could code recording recovery so that when a recording stops part way through and plex then begins recording the same programme again from that point that it can then post process the recordings and stitch them together as one recording? Currently it simply adds them as additional versions of the same programme. Surely it would be quite simple for the recordings to be automatically stitched together based on filename timestamps?
