BackBlaze b2 just lowered their download price to $0.01 per gig.

Yes, I would like to use it too. B2 is works, and should be an approved provider. A similar method could also support AWS S3 as well.
Support AWS s3 at library creation should be great!
That feature suggestion is from a time when Plex was still offering their “Plex Cloud”, a cloud hosted Plex Media Server that could be connected to your cloud based storage.
– We probably should consider closing it for good
This service has been discontinued since then.
In order to connect your cloud storage to your Plex Media Server, you’ll need an app/interface to mount them so Plex can see them as part of the local file system.
Using S3FS on Fuse or something like that, is a real pain on performances! We can not rely on that for a standard usage.
It’s certainly going to be quite some pain anyway. Keep in mind your PMS will not only access the files when you play a video but e.g. also when it’s performing extensive scans (most recently when Plex introduced intro detection/skipping for tv shows). That’s not your everyday office documents being shifted back and forth between cloud and local workspace… – just saying.
Yes I got your point, thanks for your reply and your time.
I think the software has not been designed for a real cloud architecture I see.
Since Plex is proprietary we cannot see the source code and contribute.
Best regards
