June 2022, nothing happend. Obviously not important enough for the developers. Pity, to say at least.
Voted, we need this !
This would be GREAT!!!
Plex had told me that they would you interacting with the app like the Playlist isnāt available via dlna
I just voted for this. Let me explain why I think this is important. When sending an input to a marantz reciever via hdmi or even optical it sounds okay. When you directly send to its onboard dac via heos there is a significant improvement in quality. This is likely due to bypassing any filtering done via software and/or hardware of the sending device and the maybe even the reciever itself. I have Amazon HD Music in addition to a large flac library and was able to do a number of various test cases to demonstrate a difference in quality. Please Please Please integrate plex and plexamp into heos. No idea how Sonos got integration and Heos didnāt⦠Heos is a ton more popular in this space. (Denon and Marantz)
Iād love to play music from my Plex server to my Heos system.
This could be done by implementing DLNA client support in the āSelect Playerā functionality in the PlexAmp app.
Another way is to get an integration like done with Sonos.
Please have a look at this.
Since youāre using Windows Server, there is a bundle which enables playlists to be seen on HEOS. You can get it from GitHub - Kaiede/PlexPlayListHost Plugin. Iāve installed it and it works well.
Iād still love to see Plex integration with HEOS, though.
Currently using DLNA to play my Plex library on my Denon receiver. Interface is pretty slow and browsing is painful. Would be great to see Plex / Plexamp integration with HEOS! Keeping my fingers crossed.
Alternatively, it would be cool to see a feature to output 16-bit 44.1 kHz audio from the Android TV app. There may be hardware limitations however⦠Currently direct play from the receiver is the only way to avoid re-sampling music to 48 kHz. Sucks that you need to jump through so many hoops and deal with poor navigation just to avoid resampling.
I donāt so much mind the interface to DNLA. The most annoying feature is that if you pause for a bit and then try to browse back down the tree it seems to lose touch and you get a āTry Againā message. I donāt know if this is to do with HEOS or Plex, but itās quite annoying.
I gather you can do everything you want with Mood:Mix, but thereās no way Iām going to pay streaming service prices to play my own music.
Dropping my vote here to get better integration also. After a creating a new instance of my Plex server on my NAS, HEOS has not been able to detect my Plex server at all. Restarted all systems, ensured that DLNA is on, but whenever I try to search for the server from within HEOS, nothing appears. Not even an option to scan for DLNA devices.
It would be such an incredible thing if Plex had something like Spotify/Tidal connect. It really is a pity that nothing like that exists.
