Currently, here are the available display options for Collections:
Show collections and their items - Will display collections and individual shows/movies together
Hide items which are in collections - Will remove items contained in a collection from display
Disabled - Disables the collection feature
The cases:
Harry Potter Collection
Marvel Cinematic Universe Collection
In the cases above, I would like to display these two collections completely differently. For Harry Potter, I would love to group these together but remove the individual items from display, The titles of all of the movies start with “Harry Potter and the Whatever” so they’re pretty easy to find anyway. If I currently group them, I just add another item to the screen, almost negating the need to put them into a collection unless I elect to view collections and hide the individual items.
For the Marvel Cinematic Universe Collection, I would like to display these items individually in addition to having them exist in the collection. Since their titles vary widely, I would like to be able to browse them both ways.
Under the current feature set, using the Library level, I am forced to choose one of the options above globally which negates the advantages of either one or the other.
Request: I would like to use the show/hide options at the Collection level possibly in addition to, or as an override of the Library level settings. This would grant an amazing level of customization to how one views and presents their materials. No matter how you like to see things, you would be able to meet all of your needs.
