So we have all done the Plex dance a number of times. What I would love for is a feature that allows you to remove either an episode/season/TV Show/Movie from plex (and all of its associated metadata) without affecting the media files. This would make the “Plex Dance” a lot simpler, just remove the affected entries, fix the issue and then rescan the library.

The new tv show scanner, which is currently in development, will make the Plex Dance obsolete for good.
You already don’t need it for movies anymore, if you use the non-legacy “Plex Movie” agent.
My issue was with the Local Media scanner. (In this case the issue is with files that I have downloaded and tagged from youtube.)
