I generally skip intros of TV shows and never on movies. And I stop watching a TV show when the credits roll, but movies have the post-credit content.
It would be nice to have checkboxes for skipping intros on Movie Libraries, TV Libraries, both or neither. Same for credit detection. It would dramatically cut down on the amount of time it takes to import and scan libraries.
I just thought it’s worth mentioning there’s no intro detection for movies.
There’s already an option in each library’s advanced preferences to enable/disable credit detection.
For tv show libraries, there’s an additional option to enable/disable intro detection per library.
Thats definitely worth mentioning. Thank you. I’d also include the ‘video preview thumbnails’, and was really just lumping them all together in my mind.
I was watching it detect credits last night and was looking for some more granular control, because I’d want the same behavior across all of my movie libraries. Like a glutton for punishment, I keep way too many. 4K Movies, HD Movies, 4K Kids Movies, HD Kids Movies, 4K Documentary Movies, HD Documentary Movies, 4K Concert Movies, HD Concert Movies.
The advanced preferences for each library are certainly helpful, if you consider yourself advanced enough to dive into the advanced settings. But I’d just like to turn off “Generate Preview Thumbnails” for TV but not Movies, and turn off “Credit Detection” for Movies but not TV without having to do it 12 times.
Probably a limited / specific use case, though. But thank you for pointing out those advanced settings! Now I can toggle away as I rebuild the 10 other libraries that I didn’t do last night.
