This is a 4 year old feature request and a very valid one imho.
Where are we with this?
Is there a place to look for official feature in the making?
Are we still stuck with one language fits all movie titles?
Please, can you share this? I really want all the original titles but description and everything else in my native language. Thank you.

I was struggling with this tinking I donāt know how to configure agents and then realized weāre many people having this issue.
I couldnāt beleive this was actually not possibleā¦I mean come on, weāre talking about a movie library here, something that is supposed to be used by people loving movies and obviously when you love movies you want them in their original title whatever this language isā¦
Can you please implement this? All the data is there already, it is just a matter of a single option to take by default the original title
Thank you upfront

This is still moderately annoying.
I have countless non-english titles (of both movies and TV-series) and it is annoying not to have the option to have the original titles displayed. Even more when the titles are sometimes wrongly translated.

Very frustrating not to have such a simple feature⦠I always want āforeignā movies to show the original title. French movies with English titles makes zero sense in my use-case. Having multiple libraries is not an option, thatās an overkill workaround.

Iām also a developper, and i really think itās not much to do.
I donāt want to create a folder per country, because itās too much work, my library would not make any sense, and I lost the description in a langage I understand. I want a german movie displayed with his german title, but i want to have a description in french, as Iām french.
Another upvote. This feature seems like a must have for any nonenglish speeking user.

My library contains 3 languages and having titles translated is really a pain.
Having separate libraries is even more of a pain. I used to do that for languages. Luckily we got a filter. So where is this little checkbox?

Struggling with this frequently.
Hello there,
Well, this is 21st century, your option of manually renaming all the movies from the database is a bit old fashion. COme on guys, this is 5 years old, canāt we have an option to display the āOriginal Titleā rather than the āTitleā. Itās a VERY simple thing to do.
Thank you so much for your consideration,
Louis
To make 25 different libraries for the 25 different movie languages I have is very inconvenient. I would be much simpler if you add the feature to use Original Titles.
An even if I had only 5, I donāt want to have 5 libraries, I want a single library called āMoviesā, and not Movies-English, Movies-Italian, Movies-French, Movies-Korean, etc.
This is included in the new movie scanner/agent that is part of the current Plex Media Server beta (1.20.0 and 1.21.1). You should be able to test it when itās rolling out in a future public release.
That is excellent! Thank you.
Nevermind. Thanks for the changes!
Itās more complicated than that. The US often renames English-language films from UK, Australia etc, and itās the US name that is being displayed by Plex.
