I didn’t see anything like this already posted.
So our Plex.tv accounts already have an email address attached to them. Why can’t we check a box in our account settings that allows an email to be sent to us when a new item is added to one of the libraries that we are associated with. Either our own or shared libraries. I know there are third party programs that can accomplish this, but none of them are easy or built in.
Email alerts of various things should be available to us: Server unreachable alerts and Recently Added alerts are just scratching the surface.
