It would be nice to have the multi-version support for movie extras like featurettes and behind the scenes shorts so they could always be provided in the same bandwidth/device based quality as the main movie.
Would you mind elaborating what exactly you’re trying to achieve / how you envision this to work?
I vote for this. I’m currently adding the numerous “Lord of the Rings” featurettes, behind-the-scenes, scenes and other extras, but most of them require deinterlacing or even detelecine. Most of the files have mixed interlaced and progressive content.
I would like to have both the original and the processed (transcoded and filtered) files sitting next to each other while being “folded”/nested together as we can already do with different versions of a main feature.
That way, I could use the original files whenever I use a feature-richer client-player like Plezy and hopefully the next version of Plex.
This topic could probably go in library-management or something.
