Plex does a pretty good job of providing metadata tags, but sometimes I want to tag something in a way that they haven’t thought of. Obviously they can’t think of everything. Most blogs, this forum, torrent sites, etc have the ability to append any old arbitrary tag to an item and then search by filtering tags (ie, only show the items with both the tags ‘1080p’ and ‘action’). Currently as far as I can tell you can only filter based on one metadata item, and there are not really custom tags in the way I am thinking of (‘collections’ is close but not quite there).
Have you looked at Labels? This might be what you’re looking for. Look at the Sharing page when editing a movie:
Aha! That looks like what I need. Now I just need the ability to filter by more than one label at a time.
You can, however, Plex’s filters only act as an OR filter.
There’s a request to add an option to add AND filtering. https://forums.plex.tv/discussion/169423/stacked-filter-tags
Cool, I’ll jump on that. Thanks!
