[Feature Request] More Playlist Editing Capabilities

I use music playlists extensively, but editing them in Plex is a nightmare–you have to manually grab the song and drag it where you want it. Most of my playlists contain over 100 tracks, so it’s frustrating when I add an entire album and have to drag a dozen tracks to the place I want them (new Godsmack album came out today, and I spent 15 minutes moving them from the end of the playlist to where the rest of the Godsmack tracks are). In standard music players, a playlist can be sorted by any of the track info (artist, album, etc.), and the playlist order can be updated accordingly; in my case, I sort by artist and album and then save the order.

If that would be too difficult to address, I’d even take just the ability to manually change the playlist track number. If I can change a 437 to a 156 and have it move to 156th position, bumping all later tracks back a position, that would be good enough for a short-term fix.

First priority for me would be sorting by date added in the opposite order it naturally does, meaning recently added tracks on the top. I have a playlist with around 300 songs and when I scroll to the bottom it takes a while to lazy load the tracklist.

Greetings,
Kevin

2021 clean-up: duplicate (e.g. mass reorder, sorting within playlists) – by design, the described use case will however be more suitable for collections.
