Many many moons ago I asked about this and maybe now is a good time to ask again as so many new things are now possible.
I create playlists to have correct viewing order of various TV shows, Movies, etc… In other words, I have (will have as I lost all my playlists and now must do them again from scratch…UGH!) playlists for Star Trek, Babylon 5, Star Wars, MCU, etc… These are HUGE and immense lists. While I have learned my lesson the hard way, and now break up the lists into several parts (ex: Star Trek 1, Star Trek 2, Star Trek 3, etc…) so as to not have just one list with over 900 items in it. Because, when you get to the end and are so happy and then find a better copy of one of the episodes/movies, or a new series comes out that takes place between seasons x and y, you then have to manually move that file via scrolling for a long long time. And Plex has a fun habit of once you finally get that file from position 933 to position 28 and you let go, it will vanish. It may be back where you started, or maybe it moved to some other point in the list. This happens ALL THE TIME. This is very re-creatable (at least it was 3 or 4 years ago.)
So the question/suggestion becomes: Can we have a way to edit a playlist so we can simply tell it where a file belongs?
Maybe: Add to Playlist X at position (options: Start/End/# where # would be the physical number in the list X. Say position 32 in the Star Trek playlist.)
OR
A way to manually edit the database file/text file for that playlist.
This would save many many hours of scrolling and possibly having to hunt for where it (the file) decided to jump off at if you let go and it’s not where you wanted it.
That’s my question/suggestion. I hope it is included if not already then soon in the future as I go about rebuilding all my playlists. (If I didn’t already shave my head I’d pull out my hair…lol)
Thank you all again for everything you do and the help you give us…
