There may be some duplication with other posts on some of the features I am after but felt it best to leave all here rather than split.
I am impressed with Plex and use it through the Plex for Samsung app. I am after the following features and hope that there would be support from others for some or all of what I am asking for.
Photos
P1. Add 'Show All Photos' selection
P2. Add 'By Decade' Photos selection
P3. Introduce 'Shuffle' option on Photo playback selection at every level of selection
P4. Offer Add to or Replace selection when Selecting of photos for auto play slideshow
P5. Interrupt and Resume Photo slideshow to make music auto play selection changes
P6. Handling of EXIF data to ensure rotated photos are displayed with the correction orientation
P7. Offer ability to select for auto play at folder level at any nested level, automatically recursing and picking photos in sub-folders
Music
M1. Add 'Play All Music Tracks' selection
M2. Introduce 'Shuffle' option on Music playback selection at every level of selection
M3. Offer Add to or Replace selection when Selecting of music for playback
M4. Interrupt and Resume Music playback to make photo auto play selection changes
M5. Offer ability to select for auto play at folder level at any nested level, automatically recursing and picking tracks in sub-folders

I really miss P7 "Offer ability to select for auto play at folder level at any nested level, automatically recursing and picking photos in sub-folders" and this seems to be a basic feature one would expect. I have a personal photo collection numbering over 120,000 images organized into yearly folders, within which there are monthly folders, and within those there are folders based on camera model. The camera model level is important to me since I'm more likely to use SLR photos in greeting cards or poster prints.
It seems logical that sometimes I would want to view a slideshow for a specific year or month regardless of camera model. It seems wasteful and high-maintenance to have to create duplicate collections just for Plex, especially with a 600GB+ collection.
Hi - i raised this on my first week with Plex when I was green and did not know the rules that stipulated one request per topic.
There has been some movement towards satisfying some of these requrements - all of which I felt at the time - and still do - being fundamental basic stuff - little did i know that the Plex community were 90%+ just after movies and videos and my voice got nowhere.
Anyway thanks for the support. There are probably individual separate feature requests for some of these which you can back.
You have to be careful with Plex Media Server and massive libraries. It does not scale very well and with my 80000+ photo library I broke Plex and to this date I have a server that is crashing daily when scanning the media - a problem that started after crashes due to memory issues/memory fragmentation that somehow led to some database inconsistencies that Plex Media Server has not been able to rectify. I ended up building a new higher spec server and that is coping ok with my library - except I do not dare doing massive slideshows in case I end up with the same issues.
