It would be great if upon creating a managed user, there was an option to import the watched status of the whole main library (or some other user) into this new managed user. I just recently created a managed user because usage from the household has increased a lot over the last few months.
Here’s my use case:
For the most part, this managed user has watched everything I have, but the time has finally come when they want to go back to content I have either watched in the past or new content I have yet to watch. Nevertheless, that baseline of watched content for the new managed user is very high. In other words, in order for the new managed user to filter out the content they’ve watched and reintroduce the relevancy of the main library, they will have to go through all the library types and mark all of the content they’ve seen as “watched.” For small libraries this is alright, but for ours it would mean manually marking more than 600 movies, and about 150 TV shows (some seasons completely watched, others partially, some not at all). Only at this point would the library become more relevant and usable for the managed user, because the amount of content is simply massive. In the end, I gave up on the idea of a managed user because it will just take too long to duplicate the watched statuses. I know, first world problem.
If this request ever makes it into the product, it might be nice to introduce syncing of watched status between different users and maybe even servers. If syncing is out of the question, possibly an option to import and export these watched statuses between different users/servers.
