I have a managed user account set up for kids, but there is no ability to control the content of the available podcasts. Is there a rating system that can be implemented? Or can I only select certain podcasts, or a category like ‘Family and Kids’ to share? As it is, it seems like I can either share all of the available podcasts or none.
Considering Plex has no control on the podcast content itself, your only options to restrict access for a managed user are:
- disable podcasts for good
https://app.plex.tv/desktop#!/settings/online-media-sources - download the podcasts yourself and make them available as local files in Plex…
- for video podcasts you can apply a regular restriction profile (small kid, older kid, teen) or manually apply restrictions that meet your requirements
- for audio podcasts you’ll need to manually apply some label based restrictions
I consider #2 is more of a suboptimal workaround.
