Yet another +1 here, seems like a variable with an integer of 1 to 10 seconds in the player settings would be enough for most folks???

- background music selection
- photo transition settings
- screensaver mode with different transitions choices

Great, all that work uploading thousands of photos and I cannot change the speed in which they are displayed. Very sad, I know there are priorities, but oddly I would not think this that difficult to implement.

2020 and still nothing ? This is a bit strange… As a software engineer I can assure you this is a 10 minute fix. 20 with heavy testing.
This absolutely basic feature is now asked for over 6 years.

Signed up just to bump this thread after searching Google for a solution.
Really do need to have at least basic settings for this. I get that not everyone is going to want the same speed, but 5 seconds is too short for most uses. Ideally we could set it the display time to whatever we want, but if it’s easier to implement even just a couple options I suggest 5 seconds, 15 seconds, 30 seconds, and 1 minute (ect).
Most people will be using this is show family photos to people and you need enough time to talk about it and look over at it. In my case I’d just like to have some nice pictures cycling through so something like a minute or even 10 minutes or even an hour would be great. Basically turn my TV into a big digital picture frame.
Really even just adjusting the single default variable from 5 seconds to 15 seconds would improve this feature greatly for most use cases.

Been a long time request this now along with similar requests worded differently.
Considering this should be such a simple quick fix, it’s constant being ignored likely means it’ll never happen.

I have over 30k photos that I like to cycle through on my TVs and monitors. Plex would be great for this, the rest of the library UI works great, but why the hell do the pictures change so damn fast? This is ludicrous that such a basic, easy-to-program feature has not yet been implemented. At worst, give us the config file to change the setting for $slideShowTime=
Seriously, it’s embarrassing that this has been ignored for so long.

The key use of our TV is it being a photo frame. To be able to adjust speed of the slideshow is by far the most sought after feature of Plex - for us. Users have different wishes. Our is to be able to set the time between 5 to 30 minutes - making the TV being a photo frame.
If I could wish for more, that would be to decide if pictures, movies or pictures&movies are to be displayed.

Not sure how to get this on the radar of Plex folks who can get this feature added. But reading through the long thread above (and seeing how many years this has just sat here) - guys, if you’re trying to frame Plex as a one-stop-hold-all-your-media solution, including pictures, adding a simple control to be able to set the time interval between displaying photos in a slide show is a must.
I have Plex pass and have owned plex for many years. Last year I started using it for photos in addition to music/videos. I took the step of adding my entire photo collection into Plex. My aim is to stream the photos to my tv via Plex and use my tv as a digital photo frame. It actually works great doing that with Plex right now except the photos fly by at 5 seconds per photo in a slide show
Its 2021 - is there some way to get this feature request a hearing and get this onto the roadmap? All I’m asking for is a way to set the time interval between photos displayed in the slideshow. That’s it. Plex is a great product - please take this small step to make a large positive impact to make it even better. Hoping that my comment isn’t looked at by someone in the future - 2025 - the way I’m looking at comments from 2019 etc and thinking jeez why didn’t Plex just take care of this?

I second this request (I’m probably the 10,000th person to ask for this feature). It can’t be that hard to allow users to control the speed of slideshows.

This is a modification to enhance the experience when using our own media. While that is exactly why we have Plex, Plex has prioritized outside media as their focus. They’re not interested in what we want. What they want is most important. We’re just consumers. You’ll get what we give you and you’ll like it. Don’t believe me, keep reading the forum.
Any further updates or BETA versions of PLEX available that include setting the slideshow duration (in seconds)?
The current slideshow duration is pretty fast…would like to be able to set slideshow duration to 7-8 seconds.

Just adding my voice here, this feature would still be greatly appreciated, for me especially in the screensaver, which is my primary use for my photo library
