Yes, I would also like this. I am using Plex for the following: I stream motivational quotes on my LG TV / webOS.
Some of the motivational quotes contain more text, so I you have to read a bit. For this the speed control is absolutely necessary.
Also: please make it configurable to disable the webOS screensaver while in “Play Slideshow” mode.
One more vote for this basic feature.
Could it be it is only avaiable in the premium “Plex Pass” ?
I am a new Plex user and have purchased the Plex Pass for one month just get a feel of the system, I think the deal breaker for me is the poor photo slideshow controls; no speed control no control of fade in/out, take a look at Kodi it handels slideshows and music so much better.
Can’t understand how they are not implementing this basic, much requested feature. Just a slider to change how long photos are displayed on a slideshow. Such a great system, I would have thought this was easy to add?
Please add my vote for this feature. People have been requesting it for years and there is nothing. Plenty of features that people will rarely, if ever, use, though. Marketing needs to stop running this company and give engineering a chance to add comment sense, basic, stuff.
Basic feature, years of wait. It’s so sad how great ideas and projects are badly managed. I love Plex, good implementation and easy to use. I hope they give attention to our requests.

+1 for adding speed selection for photo playback. Super basic feature, should be there. Needed to play a slideshow during a family birthday party, Plex would be a perfect solution—but it plays too fast and can’t be changed. Not a solution.
Please, now it’s 2023 and we still don’t have a timer setting for slideshows. Would love to be able to slow it down a bit for photo slideshow.

Another vote for this most basic of features - come on PLEX - what gives? Just give us a settings option to at least change a few basic variables!
Adding my vote to this seemingly basic request. It seems unusual that a request that has been out there over 6 years has not even been acknowledged. Is it apathy or do they truly not know how to do it?

There’s a lot that could be done to enhance the slideshow and photos viewing and I’m glad to see photos at least mentioned in “Plex Pro Week ‘23: TLDR; Our First Ever Fireside in the Forums”. If there’s one and only one thing I could request to enhance, it is a configurable delay between photos in the slideshow. Simple, non-intrusive change. Please!!
This is an incredible example of Plex ignoring its community. This request has been in for over a decade now. It’s not complicated. It’s not irrelevant. It IS however, inexcusable to ignore so damned long. Shame on Plex.
Slideshow speed controls should be mandatory basic functionality for any photo slideshow app.
Also needs option to show location data and month/year
Also needs options for transitions between photos
Also needs option to start slideshow on shuffle repeat
I am wondering about speed as well as resuming a slide show instead of starting from the beginning as default .
How does one create slide show for Plex ? Right now it’s going by year, camera etc.
My wife and I maintain 2 folders in a Photo library of favorites. I just checked and Her folder has 11,576 files and His folder has 427 files. The library is always played random. We have other libraries pointing to bulk storage of photos sorted by the devices they were collected with.
Amazing that this feature has been demanded for over 5 years and still not even a peep. Makes me wonder why I pay for this.
