Allows you to stream webcam or capture card video to friends you’ve shared your Stream with. It’s pretty much that simple. It’s a private live streaming sharing service and only your friends whom you’ve given your stream access can watch.
I LOVE this idea — this would be super handy on-the-go to check our security welcome (Foscam) back home.
I’d be down with this. Could monitor my CCTV.
Or even just an RTMP endpoint that I could point something like OBS or XSplit at and have a nice interface for friends to watch the RTMP stream.
Yes. This would be a great feature. Plex should be able to transcode live streams.
Two years later I’m not sure if I’d ever use this feature, but it’d still be pretty cool.
I do like this idea. Not only could you use it as a security system (which, to be honest, would be really out-of-place in Plex), but you could coordinate live viewing parties. Wanna watch Game of Thrones (or pretty much whatever you want) with your friends, but you’re out of town? No problem!
(And if this does become a feature, i’d love for the ability to mute people who keep talking over what you’re watching.)

There is actually a service for that called Plex Together.

Neat, but Plex did just announce Plex VR. I’ll just use that.
