I paid for plex, without knowing this was still an issue in 2018 on Android. It takes up to 10 seconds until the next song starts playing.
Please fix?
New user/Plex Pass here. Most of my audio library is live concerts. After spending a couple of weeks building my Plex library I discovered that Plex does not support gapless playback. I like the Plex UI and everything else about it but this is a deal breaker for me. Please fix!!!
+1 yes please - missing gapless playback is annoyingā¦
Particularly for my Nvidia shield android TV
+1. this isnāt really a feature, itās the standard as of a very long time ago and should be implemented.
Itās a standard thatās been around for over 30 years for digital music. This is disappointing. Iād like some word from the Plex team about whatās going on. There are still bugs (like this one) from ages ago that havenāt been fixed but they just keep adding more features that they can⦠market. Is gapless ever going to happen or am I just gonna have to stream all my music from a subscription based service (defeating the whole point of using Plex)?
This is crazy. You can make a cheesy PlexAmp player thatās gapless and unsupported but you canāt build it into a core feature for your other apps? This should be a priority for you, Why isnāt it? Are you TRYING to lose PlexPass subscriptions? Because⦠thatās about where Iām at with Plex. Iām ready to hang it up and move on,
+1 for me. Listening to albums that tell a story always makes me sad with Plex; the gap between songs ruin the continuity of an album.
+1 for me - used plex to stream music for the first time today, was shocked to be dragged back to 2003 era experience

This was 2016. It was on the roadmap. Did the car break down? Run out of gas? Why have we not moved down the road since?
Hi - any update on when you will implement gapless playback? Iām trying to settle on Plex vs Roon vs Audirvana etc. I really like the library experience on Plex, but without gapless itās not really an audiophile solution yet? When do you expect to have this feature in place?
Unfortunately music is the redheaded stepchild in the Plex ecosystem. A feature request has been open since 12/12,
There are 3 non-PMP options: OpenPHP, the Plex for Kodi plug-in or Plexamp. Each has their pros and cons.
Iāve been debating whether to switch to Roon but I like the 10 ft. interface of Plex.
+1,000,000
No gapless playback of FLAC albums & mixes makes me sad Have bought PMP several times so all my devices have the same interface, yet none can play gapless. Playing a DJ mix when guests are over and there are pauses between each song is embarrassing. Back to vinyl and CDs for now.
+1
We need this feature!!
Please add it.
As others pointed out, the least Plex dev could do is state if their going to wave this request so we can forget about it or get old refreshing this post.
Add it or not, but let your users know.

Exactly. I would prefer an actual answer on whether they are working on it or not then just silence with the occasional āitās on our roadmap!ā.
Hi,
Where is it on your road map?
Any ETA?
So let me get this straight.
You put in support for Sonos, but completely blow off the most basic and required request for gapless audio playback.
This is probably the ONE and only item that is preventing Plex from being the media service/player it claims to be and the ONE reason I still rely on playing my FLAC library using a third party app on my phone instead of Plex.
Back up to the top she goes⦠totally broke immersion playing The Wall today.
What do you think devs, feature slated for 2030? /sigh
MOST people care about their music being played back as it was written. MOST people donāt own things like a Sonos. But then again⦠MOST people donāt pay for Plex Pass. Perhaps adding relevant features would convince them to do so.
As much as I love Plex, this issue has bugged me for years. Ever try to listen to Dark Side of the Moon with gaps???
This is an embarrassment⦠please at least respond with an excuse. Gap-less palyback is essential for a proper music player/server solution, it is as simple as that.
